Institutional Fundraising Specialist
I’m a San Francisco Bay Area native and a fundraising leader with more than a decade of experience guiding institutional growth for nonprofit news and civic organizations at the national, statewide, and local levels. I have a track record of leading successful strategies that help organizations during times of change and growth, secure the resources they need for long term sustainability.
Most recently, I served as Director of Development at El Tímpano. I led the organization’s institutional fundraising strategy, expanding its relationships with regional and local place-based funders; designing and executing individual donor and year-end campaigns; and leading its grant development and reporting work. Prior to that, I was Director of Development and Institutional Partnerships at CalMatters, where I managed and grew their corporate sponsors portfolio, and helped secure major institutional investments to support statewide reporting on public policy. Earlier, as Deputy Director of EdSource, I oversaw operations, as well as revenue and organizational planning.
I also served as Founding Director of the Knight Digital Media Center at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, where I built and led a national grant funded training program for mid-career journalists and media leaders. That role deepened my experience in program design, funder engagement, and overseeing complex initiatives.
I like taking practical approaches to problem solving and enjoy collaborating with others to get results. I look forward to working with My Philanthropy Team and our clients to strengthen your organization’s fundraising infrastructure and build lasting partnerships.
